After a Heart Surgery, you are expected to stay in the hospital at least 4-5 days after surgery. Some of the things you have to do while in the hospital and during your first few days at home are to rest, rest and rest.

But doing simple activities will also help you recover faster, just don’t over do yourself. Regularly clean and monitor the incision. Rest is important for good healing. At the same time, getting up and walking helps to fast recovery. Then, you may be amazed how much better you feel each day. Bathing is not recommended while you are in the hospital. Do not put any cream or powders on your incisions until they are cured. It is also ordinary to experience some changes in your temper and feelings for weeks after surgery. These changes may differ from being thrilled and positive to feeling nervous and even unhappy. Your energy level and taste will depend at times. You will slowly regain your strength and independence as you heal because this may take weeks to months. Be patient and be sure to give yourself time.
